The Sierra Leonean soprano Pearlmira Vincent came to the Netherlands in 2003 to study Classical Singing at the Utrecht Conservatory with Eugenie Ditewig. In June 2007, Pearlmira graduated from the Bachelor program with honors and was invited into the Masters of Music Program which she finished in June 2010. Momentarily she continues her lessons with the Dutch soprano Charlotte Margiono. Apart from her regular classical singing lessons, she also received Jazz lessonsĀ from Lieve Geuens. She has followed a number of master classes from various teachers including Kurt Equiluz and Peter Kooij. Pearlmira's skills as a soloist have allowed her to work with various choirs in Sierra Leone, The Netherlands, Belgium and The United Kingdom. She has been a soloist for several projects organized by the Utrecht Conservatory in the Vredenburg Muziek Centrum. One major highlight was her performance as a soloist in "Let's have peace please" by Henk Alkema, specially composed for Her Majesty, Queen Beatrix's visit to the Utrecht "Dom" Cathedral. Pearlmira works a lot with contemporary compositions to broaden her understanding of contemporary music. In the Opera Festival project organized in summer 2004, Pearlmira was one of the leading soloists for two of the four pack opera "Smeltwater" by Tom Dicke and "Huile Vierge" by Jelte Heringa. She was also the soloist in a chamber opera "The Jetsetter" by Anne Ku in 2006 and "Quattro Stagioni d'Amore" by Robert Loeber conducted by Henk Alkema. In April 2008 she participated in a newly composed Dutch opera by Caroline Ansink: "De Onwankelbare" directed by Marcel Sijm o.v.l. Jussi Jaatinen. In 2011 she appears as a vocal artist in "Les Spectateurs" by OMSK company, with performances in The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Austria.
